Job Description

Our client is seeking two Senior Commercial Lines Underwriters to join their National Brokerage in NYC! Please see qualifications below:

Your Impact:

  • Evaluates information to determine risk acceptability in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Makes appropriate decisions based on the evaluation of underwriting information.
  • Effectively communicates and negotiates underwriting and pricing decisions to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Documents decisions in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency on all inquiries/requests.
  • Provides outstanding customer service.
  • Underwrites a moderate book of business with a moderate to complex risk profile.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • Associate Degree or higher plus 5 years of relevant commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience. Additional 2 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Excess and Surplus Lines experience is highly preferred.
  • Must have the ability to react and respond quickly and professionally.
  • Must provide creative analytical and innovative thinking to inure to productive problemsolving.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Mandarin) is preferred.
