Job Description
The Career Counselor / Life Education Instructor is responsible for implementing all components of the PreETS and Life Education curriculum within the Shop in a manner which is reflective of KCARCs mission to advocate and provide opportunities in dignified and respectful manner for the total wellbeing of individuals and families with special needs.

Qualifications:
- Maintain reliable transportation available for use during working hours valid drivers license and provide proof of automobile liability coverage.
- Possess ability to maintain flexible schedule to meet the demands of the department.
- Maintain good hygiene.
- Possess excellent research and writing skills.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Possess the ability to use tact and empathy when dealing with people of varied backgrounds.
- Possess the ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Possess the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Be proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office products.
- Accept responsibility and demonstrate leadership.
- Be able to multitask effectively in a sometimes fast paced environment.
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma required.
Experience working in an educational environment or additional college credit hours/degree are a plus. Experience or formal training in job placement task analysis data keeping job analysis and work site training is needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to complete detailed case notes for their clients required. Must demonstrate insight sensitivity flexibility and a strong desire to work with youth and adults.
