Job Description
The Koch Internship Program(KIP)is a paid 10week experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers meaningful work experience at nonprofits all over the country tackling some of our nations most pressing challenges. Throughout your internship with a partner organization Stand Together Fellowships hosts virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 15 pm ET wherein you will be mentored by seasoned professionals as you craft a capstone project on the topic that matters most to you. Interns will receive either a $5500 or $3300 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are participating fulltime 40 hours/week) or parttime 28 hours/week).

The Illinois Policy Institute is seeking a fulltimeinperson intern to be part of a highperforming team on which youll learn how to conduct research that makes a difference. Youll help analyze policies that make it harder for Illinoisans to thrive and to craft free market solutions that will bring more liberty opportunity and prosperity to all especially the least well off.
For the duration of your internship youll work in our Chicago office a few days per week (exact number negotiable) as a member of our policy team.
Youll have the opportunity to:
- Conduct research for articles and reports on poverty and social mobility economics jobs housing taxes budgets pensions and more
- Source and analyze data related to policy issues
- Write articles about a wide range of policies affecting Illinoisans
- File Freedom of Information Act requests to uncover government data not available to the general public
- Factcheck research by Institute policy experts
Qualified applicants will:
- Have or be working toward a bachelors or graduate degree with a focus on political science/government law economics econometrics public policy or statistics
- Have excellent data analysis and writing skills proficiency in Excel attention to detail the ability to work as part of a team and a positive attitude
- Exposure to data analysis software R/SAS/STATAis a plus.
