Western National is seeking a Senior IT Platform Engineer to join our team!
The individual in this role will have the opportunity to specialize in AWS Cloud and CI / CD pipelines and will play a critical role in designing implementing and managing our cloud infrastructure and CI / CD deployment processes. The individual will work closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure the seamless delivery of highquality software products.
What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role
- Designs deploys and maintains scalable and secure AWS Cloud infrastructure.
- Develops and manages CI / CD pipelines to automate software builds tests and deployments.
- Collaborates with development operations and security teams to implement best practices and ensures compliance with industry standards.
- Monitors and optimizes system performance reliability and security.
- Troubleshoots and resolves infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Stays up to date with the latest AWS services and DevOps trends to drive continuous improvements.
- Participates in regular oncall rotation duties to support a 24/7 operation.
- Consistently acts according to our customer experience standards by responding quickly maintaining a positive attitude building rapport demonstrating empathy managing the customers expectations using the proper communication channel for the situation and taking ownership to ensure the customers issue is resolved.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
What are the musthave qualifications for a candidate
- Bachelors degree in computer science information technology or related field; experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
- Five or more years of experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on AWS cloud and CI / CD pipelines.
- Strong expertise in AWS services such as EC2 S3 RDS or Lambda.
- Specific experience with AWS EKS.
- Strong expertise with containerization concepts.
- Proficiency in CI / CD tools such as Jenkins GitLab CI or AWS CodePipeline.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of networking security and system architecture principles.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
What will our ideal candidate have
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Developer or SysOps Administrator certification.
- Strong Experience with infrastructureascode (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch Prometheus or ELK stack.
Compensation overview
The targeted hiring range for this role is $128700 $157300 annually. However the base pay offered may vary depending on the jobrelated knowledge skills credentials and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.
