POSITION DUTIES
Located in downtown Annapolis the Comptroller of Marylands Revenue administration division has an amazing opportunity for an entry level Financial compliance auditor trainee within the taxpayer accounting Corporate returns unit.
We are looking for someone who possesses a degree in accounting attention to detail eager to learn knowledge of the ins and outs of state and federal tax returns thrives in a fast paced environment proficiency in English; written and spoken in order to correspond with taxpayers and professionals via email or telephone inquiries and is a team player in all aspects of daily work.
Some of the duties of this position include learning and working in our new tax system reviewing analysis and processing of corporate amended returns to correct financial data and tax calculations contained on them; complex corporate tax items such as payments nonpayments general adjustments net operating loss and penalty and interest abatements; various business and student loan tax credits. These encompass multiple tax types. This position is telework eligible after successful completion of 6 month probationary period.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:A Bachelors degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university or a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with 30 credit hours in Accounting and related courses including or supplemented by 3 credit hours in auditing.
Experience: None.
Note: Applicants who had met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement.

- Working knowledge of MS suite of software
- Knowledge of state and federal tax returns
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
