Compensation Range
The base pay scale for this position is $83000.00 $126875.00. In addition this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors including but not limited to: scope of role level of experience education accomplishments internal equity budget and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.DATA COMPLIANCE MANAGER OVERVIEW
The Department of Corporate Compliance & Internal Audit is seeking a detailoriented Data Compliance Manager to join their team to support the HSS Data Compliance Program the departments Monitoring & Training plans privacy investigations and other department and organizational initiatives. This is a fulltime role based in Manhattan with flexibility for hybrid work.
The Data Compliance Manager will be given opportunities for continuing professional education to enhance their skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general direction of the Privacy Officer the Data Compliance Manager will perform various projects including:
Investigations and Monitoring Activities
Maintaining and monitoring Data Usage Agreements on an ongoing basis to ensure all relevant data is used in accordance with the respective DUA provisions.
Validating data has been properly deidentified in accordance with Federal regulations.
Tracking data usage with third parties through the organization. Tracking compliance with online tracking technology requirements.
Ensuring compliance through generating and analyzing data from various systems identifying and investigating anomalous discrepancies.
Proactively monitoring access to electronic PHI though FairWarning and Epic monitoring tools.
Assisting in the investigation documentation and response to allegations and incidents of inappropriate access use or disclosure of PHI. Investigations include patient and employee interviews collecting and preserving documentation providing recommendations for remediation including disciplinary action and performing and documenting risk assessments for each allegation or incident.
Collaborating effectively with HSS departments to monitor HSS Business Associates and Business Associate Agreements ensuring Program requirements and responsibilities are addressed. Maintaining Program policies and procedures updating policies as needed to enhance and promote Program compliance.
Producing reports to demonstrate Program progress and effectiveness on a regular basis and as requested. Producing reports to effectively respond to external reporting requests.
REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree required preferable in healthcare related field. Three or more years healthcare or compliance experience. Proficiency in using intermediate office software applications including spreadsheets.
PREFERRED Experience in the healthcare industry. Experience with Epic and FairWarning
