Senior Accountant

**This position is fully onsite at ESAero in San Luis Obispo CA**

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant ensures accurate financial records compliance with U.S. GAAP and supports monthend and annual close processes. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries assisting with financial analysis maintaining internal controls and preparing audit documentation. The Senior Accountant also mentors junior staff collaborates across departments and contributes to process improvements and compliance initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries for monthend and annual close ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP particularly in complex and sensitive accounting areas.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager and CFO in analyzing financial data to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial statements and management reports.
  • Support the CFO and Accounting Manager in executing a timely and accurate monthend and annual close process.
  • Develop and maintain schedules workpapers and supporting documentation for annual financial audits tax filings and other compliancerelated audits.
  • Monitor adherence to internal controls and recommend enhancements as necessary.
  • Implement and uphold consistent accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Supervise mentor and develop junior finance team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including operations to ensure the accuracy of financial data and reporting.
  • Provide support to the CFO and Accounting Manager on ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required to ensure the effective of accounting functions and compliance with financial regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience preferably in public accounting or a corporate finance environment.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and fundamental auditing principles.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting (CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred).
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and Paychex (a plus but not required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with DCAA compliance is a plus.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
