OPPORTUNITY:


Administrative support role for currently enrolled students.
This is an off campus Federal Work Study Position.

Location:This is a hybrid role. The offcampus location address is: 12 Lombardy Street 5th Floor Newark NJ 07102


RESPONSIBILITIES

Community:

In this service opportunity you will identify opportunities to increase awareness of Per Scholas training within the communities we serve. As an intern you will be working in collaboration with the local Recruitment & Admissions (R&A) team you will promote Per Scholas mission to prospective learners through digital outreach and community engagement.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Learn from the R&A team about those we have served most consistently and those we can reach more effectively
  • Develop creative innovative new strategies to connect with new communities and deepen our ties with familiar ones
  • Expand Per Scholas local social media presence to enhance our learner recruitment efforts
  • Promote referral relationships among communitybased organization partners
  • Occasionally staff offsite recruitment events with R&A team members
  • Help develop processes and promote best practices for digital outreach among the local team
  • Communicate with applicants as needed to build rapport and trust
  • Other Projects:
    • Participate in professional development opportunities
    • Collaborate with team members on special initiatives

WHAT YOULL BRING TO US:

  • Technical aptitude (Google Workspace/MS Office Suite Salesforce etc. and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with social media marketing is a plus
  • Prior knowledge or background in IT and a passion for technology is a plus
  • Experience working in or understanding unique local community contexts is preferred
  • You thrive in a creative inventive fastpaced environment with passionate missionfocused people
  • You are detailoriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • You are techsavvy and can learn quickly
  • You see workforce development as a tool for social change
  • You stand behind our mission believing that individuals from any community should have access to wellpaying career positions and that talent should be recognized and recruited from many diverse sources

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Below are the minimum requirements of the education experience knowledge and skills required to competently perform in this position.   • Must be an enrolled student.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a current student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester.
  • FWS fund eligible.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Selfdirected motivated individuals.
  • People who sit around waiting to be told what to do will not do well in this environment.
