Qualifications
Knowledge: Advanced concepts and methods of an assigned educational area specialty. Appropriate instructional materials used in supervised tutoring. Basic operations services and goals of a tutorial program. Communitybased learning programs. Computers and applicable software. English usage spelling grammar and punctuation. Interpersonal skills and communication techniques. Methods and techniques used in assessment and evaluation. Principles and procedures of recordkeeping. Skills & Abilities: Assign and coordinate the work of shortterm tutorial student staff. Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Coordinate tutoring activities with other educational departments and higher level staff. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Evaluate and assess student needs and develop appropriate course of action. Maintain and update recordkeeping data and reports. Operate a variety of office equipment including computers and applicable software. Perform a variety of functions related to providing tutoring services to enrolled students. Plan develop and implement appropriate learning curriculum as required. Prepare clear and concise material and reports. Tutor individually in group or in virtual settings. Training and Experience: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: completion of the twelfth grade in addition to a minimum of a 3.0 GPA with the assigned educational specialty area. One year of increasingly responsible tutoring experience and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.
