We are looking for general pediatrician clinician investigator to join our divisions clinical and research missions. Our division has one of the largest research portfolios in the Department of Pediatrics with over $3 million annually in federal research funding. Areas of research expertise include pediatric health equity children with chronic conditions newborn care informatics and promoting healthy child development. OHSU has many resources for emerging investigators including a clinical and translational research institute (OCTRI) a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities the Human Investigations Program (HIP) which allows faculty to receive additional training in public health and multiple research grant and career development award opportunities. Research faculty are expected to provide research mentorship to trainees including pediatric residents and medical students. Our faculty have won multiple awards for research mentorship.
Clinically pediatricians in our division provide clinical care for over 12000 infants children and adolescents in the ambulatory setting and provide inpatient service to newborns in the MotherBaby Unit. Embracing multidisciplinary collaboration we actively participate in a broad range of clinical quality and education activities. Division members develop and support familycentered care principles and demonstrate excellence in communication with families and referring providers. The Division is extensively involved in providing and leading clinical and educational endeavors for medical students and pediatric residents. More than half of Oregons practicing pediatricians trained at Doernbecher.
The ideal candidate will have clinical and/or health services research experience in a research area relevant to general pediatrics. Fellowship and/or Masterslevel (e.g. MPH MPP) training though not required is desirable. The expectation is that the candidate will be prepared to develop a mentored research portfolio within 3 years of appointment. The candidate must also have clinical experience and expertise in the general pediatric setting.
