Job Description
Ohel is seeking a Grants Associate to support the team responsible for Government Capital and Foundation grants and contracts.Responsibilities include identifying and coordinating required elements of grant proposals and reports; working collegially with the Supervisor and various department colleagues within Ohel to ensure deliverables are completed and submitted in a timely manner; and project and file management. This individual will work closely with and report to Ohels Senior Grants Manager.
Required Skills:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Ohel staff and Government/Foundation liaisons
- Ability to perform in a fastpaced team environment handle multiple projects to meet timelines and deadlines and proactively manage work flow
- Attention to detail
- Excellent project file and time management skills
- Superior organizational and followthrough skills
- Strong verbal written communications and research skills
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a position with similar duties
- Experience working in the nonprofit sector; knowledge of government systems and processes a plus
- Professional customer service skills
- High standards of accountability discretion professionalism and confidentiality
- Familiarity or proficiency with donor databases (CRMs)
- Proficiency using MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)
- Ability to work effectively independently and in diverse group/team settings
This fulltime position is based in Brooklyn and has a competitive salary and benefits.
