Background to the recruitment
Beijer Electronics has since April 2023 a new CEO and the management has executed a strategic review of its operation to sharpen and focus its business. This generated an updated strategy focusing on three segments: the marine sector manufacturing as well as applications for rugged environments. Beijer Electronics has a strong offering and solid product portfolio to build on but there is a rapid pace of change in the business environments and the company need to be able to meet the new and coming demands. As part of the implementation of the reviewed strategy the product portfolio is streamlined and a product road map is established with a strategic direction towards more software webb and cloudbased solutions.
The former VP Product Management is leaving the company after 17 years to pursue a career outside of the company and we are looking for a strong leader to continue the implementation of the new revised strategic direction.
About the role
As VP of Product Mangagement at Beijer Electronics you will play a central role within the organization leading the product management strategy as well as inspire and develop the product management team. The role demands a balance of strategic thinking and handson tailoring the product portfolio to secure customer needs and to meet the longterm strategy and business goals.
In the spring of 2023 Beijer Electronics acquired the German software company Smart HMI and its platformindependent webnative HMI software WebIQ. This acquisition brings knowhow about technologies that complement current solutions consolidating the business entitys positioning with customers. Leadership for the product management of this important offer lies within the Global Product Management organisation with the objective of supporting and accelerating growth of WebIQ within Beijer Electronics bringing the full offer to the market.
You will lead an international team of approximately 17 people including 7 managers based in Sweden Germany and Singapore. In this role you will operate as a key member of the Management Team contributing to the overall strategy and direction of the company. The role also involves collaboration with the board and investors.
The role is based at the headquarter in Malm Sweden and the role will require travelling.
Key responsibilities:
- Represent the global perspective and ensure that the product offerings are tailored to meet the specific needs of various markets. The role also involves close collaboration with the board and investors.
- Develop and grow the Product Management organization with focus on developing the teams capabilities through increased delegation and responsibility.
- Develop and manage the product portfolio in alignment with the companys strategic direction and focus areas. Create and implement longterm product portfolio roadmap in collaboration with relevant departments. Ensure that new products including the upcoming X3 product family are successfully launched.
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to phaseout ensuring products meet market demands and company goals.
- Work closely with R&D and sales teams to ensure the strategy is effectively implemented.
- Work closely with the marketing department and develop and implement a cohesive marketing message for the products and solutions.
- Ensure customerdriven product development by enhancing the collection of customer insights and market analysis. Optimize the product offerings by streamlining the portfolio and focusing on futureproof solutions.
- Monitor the marketplace customers and competitors to ensure that the product portfolio maintains a leading position.
- Support sales teams particularly with key customers and facilitate the development of impactful sales support materials and tools.
- Develop and implement differentiated product positioning and strategic price management to maintain a competetive edge.
About you
We are looking for an experienced stable and communicative leader with a proven track record in establishing highperforming teams. You have solid experience from leading product strategies and product road maps within software. Working crossfunctional building relations and collaborating with other departments is your natural arena.The ideal candidate will embody the company values act as an ambassador for the strategy and foster a collaborative innovative team environment. Experience in leading integration projects after company acquisitions is a merit.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Engineering Business Administration or comparable
- Track record of leading product strategies within software web or cloudbased solutions
- Proven leadership skills leading and generating change
- Customerfocused and commercially driven with an ability to turn market insights into concrete product initiatives
- Very good written and verbal communication skills in English
