ROLE SUMMARY
The Summer Intern will support both the Isolation Valve Design Team and the Mechanical Lab enhancing productivity through handson assistance in design testing data analysis and process improvement. This role provides exposure to CAD modeling product validation compliance research and lab automation and contributes to key engineering initiatives.
The role may also support special projects such as developing work instructions and documentation. It may also include production assembly on the shop floor and assisting in the resolution of basic product issues as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in CAD modeling design modifications and conceptual studies for product improvement initiatives.
- Analyze test results compile reports and identify data trends to support engineering decisions.
- Research industry standards assess design compliance and contribute to documentation for audits.
- Support prototype testing gather performance data and assist in validating design improvements. Provide engineering design support for assigned product line working with other technical resources to compile product design documents (drawings bills of materials work instructions etc..
- Coordinate with shop floor and engineering lab to assist in production order assembly and testing to meet leadtime requirements for orders and product development.
- Support manufacturing and quality in processing orders through the shop floor
Requirements:
- Actively pursuing a degree in Engineering Mechatronics Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering Engineering Technology or related curriculum. Must be in good standing.
- Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Willingness to learn and to stay focused on the task at hand.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced teamoriented environment.
- Strong work ethic with positive attitude.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Comfortable in a shop environment
- Skilled in SolidWorks.
- Candidate can work consecutively during both summer and fall semesters.
