Position Function:
The TK Martin Center is seeking a licensed or licenseeligible speech language pathologist with experience in early intervention services to support a pilot project at the TK Martin Center and expertise in AAC evaluations or willingness to receive training. This position will have a primary role of serving young children ages birth to three qualifying for early intervention services in the state of Mississippi. Children may present with complex communication needs. This role may involve assisting with early intervention assessments for infants and toddlers who present with developmental delays. This position will require intimate work with a multidisciplinary team to maximize the outcomes of children (and their families) receiving services. Trainings may be required in evidencebased practice. Those with experience may also assist with AAC evaluations for the TKMC.
This position will require travel within the state of Mississippi.
If not already in possession it will be encouraged in the duration of the first year of employment to receive the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.

Department Profile:
The T.K. Martin Center provides comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluations to remove limitations through the application of assistive technology allowing individuals to participate in educational vocational and leisure activities to the fullest degree they choose. The comprehensive nature of the services offered ensures that the correct solutions are achieved efficiently and effectively with needs being met in a onestop shop.
The Center staff provide services and outreach for individuals with disabilities of all ages including assistive technology art early intervention psychological behavioral and dyslexia services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide individual therapy services to children birth to age three meeting eligibility for early intervention.
2. Provide early intervention evaluations and assessments for children birth to age three who present with developmental delays and/or with communication needs. Prepare written reports as required.
3. Participate collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to enhance outcomes for children and families.
4. Consult with primary care physicians therapy professionals daycare centers etc.
5. Coordinate resources including technical expertise clinical services and communitybased services to fully meet the communication needs of children.
6. Carefully track and monitor client outcomes and data.
7. Prepares and participates in staff and professional development such as conferences and classes.
8. Perform AAC evaluations or receive training to competency in AAC.
9. Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology
Licensed or license eligible as a speech language pathologist in the state of Mississippi by the Mississippi State Department of Health or Mississippi Department of Education.
Experience working with children and/or early intervention.
Possess a valid Mississippi drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year experience with early intervention programming (birth to age three)
Obtained Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) evaluations and treatment
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Must possess knowledge of early childhood development
Ability to match clients skills and abilities and family needs to the services provided
Strong communication skills and ability to establish rapport quickly
Develops and maintains positive working relationships with referring physicians daycare providers teachers therapists related professionals and parents/guardians.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Must be able to drive a motor vehicle
Must be able to bend squat and move from seated to standing quickly
