Position Summary
The Kong Research Group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Rice University is looking for motivated postdoctoral scholars to conduct independent research in functional bioelectronics aimed at addressing unmet clinical needs. Ideal candidates should have experience in interdisciplinary research particularly in mechanical electrical and/or biomedical engineering. They are expected to lead and work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment. Responsibilities include reporting to Professor Kong leading research on 3D printed electronics and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
Dr. Yong Lins research focuses on the additive manufacturing of nanomaterialbased functional devices and biomedical devices. He has been awarded patents in 3D printed active electronic materials and devices 3D printed multifunctional hybrid devices and structures and gastric resident electronics ( position is a oneyear termlimited position funded by a grant soft and/or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of funding.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Biomedical Engineering or a relatedfield

Essential Functions
- Plan direct and conduct research activities related to 3D printedelectronics and biomedicaldevices
- Develop new research directions in addressing unmet clinical needs
- Present findings in internal and externalmeetings
- Contribute to scientific publications and grantproposals
- Collaborate with other members of the team and assist with training labmembers
- Performs all other duties as assigned
