ROLE Design Engineer
LOCATION Watford
TERM Permanent
SALARYdependent on experience
My client designs and manufactures specialist equipment. They are looking for a Design Engineer to join their team in Watford on a permanent basis.
The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- 03 years or more of experience in a similar Design / CAD Operation position
- Experienced using 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD
- Experience with 3D CAD would also be beneficial
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication and welded parts
- Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Design Engineering or similar
- Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient using MS Office
- Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multidisciplinary team
The Design Engineer role will involve:
- Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
- Producing fabrication drawings to bespoke requirements
- Communicating directly with clients to determine requirements
- Liaising with manufacturing providers
- Being involved in final assembly of products
- Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
- Updating 3D models and drawings
- Checking drawings for sign off
- Working in a small multidisciplinary team on varied projects
