Miami Dade College is seeking a dynamic and studentcentered Faculty Speech to join our esteemed institution. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching speech communication courses fostering student engagement and contributing to curriculum development. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of speech communication courses including Public Speaking Interpersonal Communication and other related subjects.
- Develop and implement innovative instructional strategies to enhance student learning.
- Assess student performance through various evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback.
- Engage in curriculum development and instructional material enhancement.
- Participate in student advising mentorship and retention initiatives.
- Maintain an active presence in department meetings committees and collegewide initiatives.
- Stay current with trends and advancements in speech communication and integrate them into instruction.
- Contribute to professional development activities and maintain ongoing scholarly engagement.

Minimum Requirements:
- Masters degree in Communication Communication Studies Human Communication or Speech Communication; or Masters degree in a related discipline (which may include but not limited to Mass Communication Rhetoric Organizational Communication Global Communication Business Communication Sports Communication or Theatre Arts) with at least 18 graduate hours of coursework in communication theory or research including 6 (six) graduate semester hours in communication theory or research with an additional 12 (twelve) graduate hours related to course competencies. ;
- All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Familiarity with and use of collaborative learning techniques and studentcentered methods of instruction
- Ability to function well in a technological environment and willing to use technological tools in instruction
- Possess excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with students faculty staff and the community
- Ability to work in a multiethnic/multicultural environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
- Doctoral Stipend awarded in addition to base salary as applicable
- Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated on or before beginning of the Fall Semester 2025
