Job Description
The Digital Media Specialist Multimedia Production will design develop and produce video and multimedia assets to support the academic and marketing initiatives of the Teaching Learning and Technology Center. The specialist is responsible for producing live and ondemand video and audio for the Universitys web properties as well as live and virtual presentations. The position will be responsible for all facets of video production and support. This position works as a collaborative member of the Digital Media Team and serves a variety of internal customers across all departments under the supervision of the Manager of Digital Media Production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibility of the position include:
Video & Multimedia production: In conjunction with the Multimedia Production Coordinator this position performs tasks including but not limited to preproduction planning storyboarding script generation video capture audio capture lighting editing postproduction effects branding graphic design encoding distribution via on or offline platforms cataloging and archiving for all live ondemand or webbased pieces. Motion graphic production utilizing Adobe After Effects. Postproduction for all video produced including greenscreen/chroma keying color correction and audio editing. Support for the Universitys podcasting initiatives including management of the podcasting platform.
Live event production and support: This position supports events both inperson and virtual utilizing streaming equipment and platforms including YouTube Vimeo and Microsoft Teams. This support includes preproduction planning meetings clerical responsibilities rehearsals with event participants direct event support and coordination as well as postproduction edits and online archiving.
Additional duties of the position also include:
Photography: Working under the direction of the Manager of Digital Media Production the Digital Media Specialist can complete photography shoots where and when needed. This includes handling photography equipment photo retouching editing in postproduction and cataloging / archiving produced materials.
Research & Development of multimedia trends: Aids in selecting and testing new equipment and software for Multimedia Production. This position will research and stay up to date on current design trends and applications in the field. This includes hardware software process and trends related to multimedia production.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a related field of study including Video Production Multimedia Production or other creative production degree. Relevant experience with video or multimedia production may substitute for the creative degree requirement depending on body of work/experience of the applicant.
