Position Description

The Advocate Overnight position is responsible for implementing various group and individual program components at House of Hope during third shift. They are responsible for the supervision and support of the residents and children at House of Hope. This position also ensures that House of Hope models a clean and healthy living environment. The ideal candidate will have passion and enthusiasm for cleaning organizing and helping others.


Essential Duties

Ensures a clean organized and healthy environment for clients. Supports clients in feeling safe and achieving their goals.


Program Implementation

Maintain positive relationships with residents/clients staff volunteers community groups and organizations

Provide intake interviews and program orientation as required.

Maintain required records and logs for each client.

Support clients in accomplishing their goals.

Provide crisis intervention when necessary.

Provide a positive role model from which clients can grow and develop.

Provide care for infants and children in the Hope Center shelter care facility.


Administrative and FacilityRelated Responsibilities

Perform required cleaning and maintenance tasks of the interior and exterior of the facility.

Attend all staff meetings and inservice trainings.

Carry out all other duties and programs as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Valid Wisconsin drivers license.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check.
  • High school diploma required; degree in Social Work Psychology Human Development Child/Youth Development or related field preferred.
  • An ability to safely provide direct services to individuals experiencing homelessness as well as young parents and their children.
  • Appropriate interpersonal communication skills and a sensitivity and understanding of the needs of a diverse multicultural clientele.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to maintain flexible work hours.
  • Ability to plan and organize work and to make effective use of time.
