Position Summary:
The OwlConnect Training Specialist a member of the Development Information Services team in the Development and Alumni Relations Division at Rice University supports end users in using OwlConnect Rice Universitys campuswide advancement system (powered by Blackbaud CRM) and the BBIS (Blackbaud Internet Solutions) platform. The OwlConnect Training Specialist provides training data governance and compliance support. The responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduling and conducting training assisting with onboarding maintaining training and compliance records and creating and updating training documentation and videos. In addition this position will provide administrative support for data governance efforts as needed which may include maintaining the data inventory log. The OwlConnect Training Specialist may be assigned to different tasks depending on the time of year staffing or priorities. In addition the OwlConnect Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert in OwlConnect and BBIS.
The ideal candidate must be extremely organized detailoriented and able to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fastpaced environment. The candidate should also have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to quickly learn concepts and make them actionable as well as the ability to support users with patience and respect.
Workplace Requirements:
This position is offered as a hybrid role combining both inoffice and remote work to provide flexibility and support Rice policy 440 work arrangements may be subject to change.
*Exempt (salaried) positions underFLSAare not eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
- In lieu of the education requirement additional related experience above and beyond what is required on an equivalent yearforyear basis may be substituted
- 1 years of related professional experience in development and alumni relations application systems training or a related field

Preferences:
- 2 years of related professional experience in development and alumni relations application systems training or a related field
- Experience working for an institution of higher education or nonprofit organization
- Experience using Blackbaud CRM or similar alumni/donor database system
- Experience in a PC/Windows environment using Microsoft Office tools
- Experience managing and scheduling across multiple calendars
- Experience with creating educational materials
- Knowledge of basic video production
- Strong problemsolving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Displays good judgment in dynamic situations
Essential Functions:
- Conducts training and assists with onboarding users to OwlConnect/BBIS as follows:
- Schedules training
- Delivers training oneonone or for a group inperson or virtually
- Maintains training and compliance records
- Creates and updates training documentation videos and Canvas courses
- Assists with data governance efforts for the following:
- Business Data Glossary updates
- Data Inventory Log maintenance
- Followup on approved agenda items with requests or updates to documentation
- Serves as OwlConnect/BBIS subject matter expert
- Assists users with questions about OwlConnect/BBIS
- Organizes information on problems or procedures
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Additional Functions:
- Participates in routine OwlConnect support team meetings BBIS meetings and project meetings as appropriate
- Assists with OwlConnect/BBIS training session logistics and documentation as needed
- Ongoing contact with Development and Alumni Relations staff as well as frequent contact with campus partners in person and virtually
- Responsible for fielding calls emails or instant messages from various departments on campus
- Ability to work long hours in front of a computer
