Amazons legal department is looking for a smart talented and highly motivated customs and international trade attorney looking to make an impact at an innovative company. Among other things you will be the main point of contact for the Global Logistics teams customs compliance and regulatory legal work. You will also be responsible for supporting the team in connection with a variety of commercial and business matters. While this role will primarily be focused on customs issues there will be significant opportunities to expand scope to new areas and advise on a wide range of legal and business risks and opportunities.
Key job responsibilities Providing daytoday and strategic advice regarding complex customs compliance and regulatory issues Working with outside counsel to manage disputes or research customs issues Conducting risk assessments and developing strategies to mitigate legal exposure Developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative businesscentric ways Providing general commercial legal support Building processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly Some travel domestic and international may be required
5 years of legal experience Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent Experience advising stakeholders on complex customs compliance and regulatory issues
Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines Experience with inhouse work at a technology or internet company Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
