Job Description:

The Department of History at the University of Florida College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a fulltime ninemonth nontenureaccruing position in United States History and departmental Experiential Learning Coordinator at the rank of Lecturer working title Assistant Instructional Professor beginning August 16 2025.

The successful candidate will contribute to the Department of Historys intellectual growth and innovative teaching methods and to the development and growth of undergraduate experiential learning opportunities including internships research and study abroad. The area of teaching specialization is open.

Teaching responsibilities will include courses in United States History including the large lecture surveys of US History as well as upperdivision courses in the candidates regional or thematic specialization. This position will typically be assigned five courses per year 32 or 23 along with the Experiential Learning Coordinator responsibilities.

Experiential Learning Coordinator responsibilities will include: serving as department liaison to the colleges Beyond120 experiential learning program and preparing an annual report on department activities; serving as point of contact for History majors interested in experiential learning opportunities; assisting History department faculty in developing opportunities for undergraduates; working with the Department Chair and History Department Advisory Board to cultivate alumnistudent connections.

This position will also help coordinate the departments implementation of the University of Floridas Quest 3 experiential learning requirement and assist the Associate Chair in the planning of departmental Quest 1 or Quest 2 offerings.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to benefit from the support resources and activities of relevant programs on campus including the Beyond120 program the Center for Humanities in the Public Sphere Career Connections Center and the Brown Center for Leadership and Service.

Expected Salary:
