Adventist HealthCares Pharmacy is hiring a Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for our Emergency Department in Silver Spring MD. Qualified candidates will be eligible for up to a $4000 signon bonus. *Current AHC employees not eligible see below under additional details.

As a Pharmacy Specialist you will:
Evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the patients medications.
Follow the patients progress to determine the effects of the patients medications on his or her health.
Consult with the patients physicians and other health care providers in selecting the medication therapy that best meets the patients needs and contributes effectively to the overall therapy goals.
Review and verify physician orders for appropriateness
Participate in Patient care rounds
Counsel and educate patients about their medications.
Serve as a preceptor for Pharmacy resident and students
Educate pharmacists nurses and physicians
Participate in hospital committees
Participate in Pharmacy Staff monthly meetings and weekly huddles
Emergency Code participation (ACLS and PALs trained)
Overseeing Medication History pharmacy technicians

Qualified candidates will possess:
Required: Graduation from an ACPE accredited pharmacy school with PharmD degree
Required: ASHP accredited PGY2 Residency or PGY1 residency
3 years of clinical pharmacy experience in area of specialty Required
Registered Pharmacist with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy
Preferred (required within one year of employment): Board Certification in area of specialty
Preferred: ACLS Certification
Preferred: Member of American Society of Healthsystem Pharmacists (ASHP) and/or Maryland Society of Healthsystem Pharmacist (MSHP) or other relevant professional organization
Preferred: Prior experience precepting students and residents

10 am 6:30 pm MondayFriday

$105664.42 $158496.00
