Created in 2015 to align lighten and modernize infrastructure the Technology & Infrastructure (T & I) team is the backbone and the future forward arm of CBC/RadioCanada. We are the people that make stuff work. We make connections; between media content systems people and places. We are the space in between.

This role requires fulltime onsite presence.

The opportunity

We are looking for a Broadcast and IT Systems Specialist to support the studio content creation and presentation groups with technical issues as well as help implement groundbreaking technologies across our sites. From the virtualization of services to the implementation of videooverIP and beyond to the introduction of centralized and automated workflows your input will impact CBC/Radio Canada across the country.

Every day your handson knowledge your growing expertise your problemsolving skills and your ability to translate technical issues will be called into play as you work closely with clients facing issues with content creation backend systems studios and control rooms. Your patience sense of urgency and responsiveness will ensure that our content is prepped scheduled and on the air or digitally available.

You may be a Computer Science or Electronics grad with interest in working at the cutting edge of media and broadcast technology from cloud services to videooverIP. What you bring as our newest Broadcast and IT Systems Specialist:

• The education. You have a diploma in Computer Science Information Technology Electronics Broadcast or a related field.
• The experience. You have a general understanding and knowledge of computers networking IP infrastructure and maintenance of equipment systems and relevant software technologies. You are familiar with Windows Server Systems MacOS and Linux.
• The extra skills. You may have exposure to managing backend systems databases and remote support of server systems.
• The interest. You want to learn more about audio video and TV & Radio Broadcast networks.
• The communication skills. You are skilled at communicating effectively with internal partners relaying your opinions with sensitivity. You know how to listen and you understand perspectives. You can expertly analyze and synthesize information and document technical specifications.
• The positive collaborative attitude. You can work in a stressful and demanding environment of a production centre in carrying out its duties effectively under tight deadlines while providing quality work and maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
• The relationship building finesse. You are empathetic and patient. You understand the user perspective and your priority is providing rapid stable solutions and support. You are guided by a sense of urgency. You can nurture strong twoway relationships with peers partners clients staff senior managers and vendors.
