What You Will Be Doing

As a Microfilm/Imaging Operator 2 in the Image and Data Management team youll support the Program Coordinator in processing business license and tax documents from mail receipt document batching and scanning to data entry from the digital image you create. Daily you are tasked with performing the scanning processing indexing maintenance and archival of digital records as we build a career aimed at a digital future.

You will work with experienced staff in over 20 different tax types to learn the State of Alaskas rules and regulations and apply this knowledge to digitizing license applications and tax returns. You will provide support to staff across multiple locations to ensure accurate data and workflow and help develop test and implement procedural enhancements.

Further your experience in Microsoft Suite programs in your everyday work from the processing of license and taxes to the scanning and archival of physical data into a digital database. Utilize staff knowledge and online training designed to enhance your experiences and the potential for future job opportunities. The Working Environment You Can Expect

Located on 11th floor of the State Office Building (SOB) in the heart of downtown Juneau we have a beautiful view of the Gastineau channel access to State of Alaska employee parking and the convenience of stores restaurants trails and the Downtown Transit Center.

This position works with our mail staff and needs to be in office to receive and process mail daily but we do find ways to celebrate the work we do and should you need to work off lunch there are plenty of stairs.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of training and/or experience in the operation of microfilm and/or scanning equipment to produce microfilm microfiche or scanned images including processing duplication and quality control equipment.
