The Detectors Group at TRIUMF plays a crucial role in the field of particle and nuclear physics. They specialize in designing developing manufacturing and assembling detector systems for both local and global projects. Currently we are seeking a highly skilled Journeyperson Machinist to join our team.
A CNC Machinist at TRIUMF provides specialized research and development machining services working independently to create precise parts for research projects while meeting tight tolerances. The role also involves offering technical support troubleshooting as well as assembling parts and components for various research programs.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities; however the incumbent is expected to provide coaching and mentoring to lessexperienced machinists.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
The ideal candidate will have:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Certified as a Machinist Level 4 in the ITABC program or Red Seal Endorsement with a minimum of 4 years postcertification experience.
Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
