Skyroot Aerospace is a National awardwinning space technology company founded by former ISRO scientists with the goal to Open Space for All by building affordable and ondemand space launch solutions from India for the world.
Purpose of role: Designing of test fixtures and testing of components as per the design needs.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Translating the Engineering requirements into a Test requirement development of specifications for the test setup designing the required test fixture and qualifying the setup for the usage.
- Design and develop flexible test set ups Test fixtures with the Validation requirements of the product design teams.
- Design of fixtures for Handing transportation and assembly of large launch vehicle structures and components
- Generate 3D models of the components assemblies tooling & fixtures.
- Create 2D manufacturing drawings from 3D CAD models along with Bill of Materials
- Ensure the release of the manufacturing drawings with GD&T as per aerospace standards.
- Ownership of the models and drawings created and assist in maintaining configuration control.
- Interaction with design manufacturing integration and quality teams to ensure the design meets all requirements.
- Perform basic FEA analysis of the components.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors/masters degree in mechanical engineering discipline from institute of repute
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mechanical Design & Drafting of Aerospace or defence components and tooling
- Demonstrated expertise in Mechanical system /sub system/ component validations Strong understanding of Mechanical testing domain ability to Design from fundamental physics /Engineering fundamentals and the application of the same
- Experience/familiarity with data acquisition systems test instrumentation industrial test laboratory environments and procedures
- Experience with sensors including accelerometers strain gages thermocouples load cells and pressure transducers.
- Must have minimum 12 years of experience with PTC Creo
- Very good knowledge of GD & T Materials & Manufacturing process with experience in Inspection methodologies & generating/reviewing manufacturable drawings.
- Must have sound understanding of mechanical part and assembly fits & tolerances.
- Must have handson exposure to manufacturing processes such as machining welding.
- Experience designing handling tackles and assembly fixtures preferred.
- Experience with FEA tools such as Ansys and Hyper works preferred.
- Experience with aerospace composites preferred.
- Should be able to independently work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
