Description
First Presbyterian Church is seeking a dedicated individual to join us in our mission to be the Light Life for the City. Rooted in a culture of service to Colorado Springs and living for Jesus we are a welcoming dynamic community committed to faith connection and compassion.
We are looking forNursery Teachers to help create a safe and nurturing environment for the children of the Nursery. Nursery Teachers are responsible for the safety and protection of the children in the event of an emergency following all established protocols. Nursery Teachers work under the supervision of the Nursery Coordinator and under the direct leadership of the Nursery Lead Teacher. Nursery Teachers will provide childcare for children in the specific area to which they are assigned. All Nursery Staff are expected to provide a welcoming nurturing and safe environment for everyone in connection with the Nursery. Engages in continuous improvement teamwork and communication training and changes behaviors to improve customer service and job performance.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current first aid/ CPR certification (Training Provided)
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of six months of childcare experience.
- Proven ability to lead an organization through program change and focus.
- Some Biblicallybased knowledge preferred.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a complex environment.
- High energy and creativity.
- Ability to lead equip and coach.
- Proven ability to act with composure and lead in a crisis.
Position Requirements:
- Follow all Nursery policies and procedures in the Nursery and First Pres Staff Handbook.
- Readily assume assigned position at the beginning of scheduled shifts (on time and ready with clean smock and hands).
- Attend to the needs of children with a loving and nurturing attitude.
- Work well with and encourage Nursery Volunteers.
- Report all accidents and incidents immediately to the Nursery Lead Teacher in charge of your room.
