Job Description Summary
This position supports the Continuing Education Services department and requires excellent customer service skills attention to detail independent judgment critical thinking and problemsolving skills. This position is responsible for administrative support for the Traffic Safety programs and assists with noncredit programming which include but are not limited to research the development of new offerings training technical assistance and conferences.Job Description
Serve as the primary contact for students in the Traffic Safety programs.
Support Traffic Safety programs by preparing class materials and assisting students with enrollment.
Use the Department of Transportation (DOT) website to create client records class documentation and obtain driver abstracts.
Notify DOT and assessment agencies of persons who fail to comply with their driver safety plan.
Comply with college and DOT policies and procedures for processing program forms and course materials maintaining files and confidentiality.
Attend mandatory DOT inservice training activities.
Create class sections for Traffic Safety classes in Workday.
Update and verify class section information to ensure accurate pay for noncontract instructional hours and adjunct faculty.
Track and notify students of impending class payment deadlines.
Secure appropriate facilities for Traffic Safety classes and continuing education courses and/or conferences utilizing the room scheduling system 25Live.
Assist with event planning for annual conferences: update website arrange for conference rooms facilities audiovisual materials food and refreshments etc. Support the virtual community offering platform.
Prepare purchase requisitions reimbursement requests and process orders using the computerized requisition system.
Develop efficient procedures and work processes and foster teamwork to accomplish department goals.
Serve as the backup for the division assistant to ensure customer needs are met.
Performs projects and other related duties as requested by Division Dean/Associate Dean or Manager of Continuing Education Services and the best interests of FVTC.
Associates Degree in Administrative Assistant or related area AND
Three years of similar successful work experience OR
Training and experience with Workday and computer systems.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Workday and computer systems is required
Work will be completed in person
Work is typically performed during the day; however some evenings.
Sitting: Prolonged periods of sitting while performing tasks and utilizing computer system.
Mobility: While much of the work is deskbased occasional mobility may be necessary for attending meetings setting up for conferences or events within the workplace.
Lifting and Carrying: Occasional/continuous lifting and carrying of light to moderate items of less than or equal to 20 lbs.
Fine Motor Skills: Requires precise hand movements for typing and using office equipment.
Repetitive Motions: Capacity to perform repetitive motions such as typing without discomfort or injury.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with staff and stakeholders both inperson and through electronic means.

Additional Information
Pay Rate: $24.53 per hour.
Pay is based on a multitude of factors including experience qualifications education relevant certifications internal equity and market data. Note: Internal applicants wage will be based upon the applicable compensation guidelines.
