What You Will Do

Product Definition Drafter in Hot Section Engineering (HSE). Candidate will have the opportunity to create/maintain parametric solid design models and associated drawings related to turbine airfoils. Create parametric 3D models and other definition files to Design intent and Product Definition standard work using UG NX graphics software. Produce part prints (using the UG NX graphics software) to Product Definition standard work which includes the application of dimensioning techniques per part family Engineering Standard Work while considering manufacturability and design intent.

• Under minimal supervision performs substantially varied and complex task.

• Applies advanced skills to perform functions of the position within assigned area.

• Adapts new procedures techniques and tools to meet the high complex requirements of position.

• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.

• Understands key concepts in their discipline (PD ESW GD&T Unigraphics/Nx Teamcenter/Nxmanager BCT Raster)

• May periodically assist in orienting training assigning and checking the work of other employees.

• Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of high complex problems and issues and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.

• Apply and interpret part family specific Geometric Form Control to ASME Y14.5M/PWA79360 standards.

• Apply dimensioning techniques per part family PD ESW standards including DRM practices. Must include manufacturability and inspection considerations.

• Apply dimensional stackup techniques including ASME Y14.5 influences.

• Perform Class I & II Engineering Changes including marked prints.

• Perform light supervised checking of Class I & II related documentation and incorporated part prints.

• Attend and have participation in group meetings teleconferences and/or training required

• Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement

• Support product definition community initiatives

• Based on business needs the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company and have availability to travel up to 10.

• English (read write speak) is required when communicating with customers coworkers or supervisors who only speak English

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Qualifications You Must Have

• AA/AS Degree in Drafting Design or Technology (or other 2year post high school training).

• 10 years of experience in Drafting Design or Technology.

• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience working with hot section airfoils

• Experience working in the Aerospace Industry

• Experience with AutoCAD Teamcenter SAP & Airfoils applications

• Possession of a United States Department of Defense Clearance

• NX 3D/CAD modeling

• Hot Section Engineering is responsible for the design development technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases combustors turbines (vanes blades rotors and cases) augmenters (military) nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units. Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering Mechanical Design Structural Analysis Durability and Product Definition.
