Job Description
Overview
Responsibilities
Participates in investigations of clusters of infections outbreaks unusual infections or exposures as these events arise and participates in epidemiologic studies as needed
Supports the development of processes to ensure the timely collection analysis and reporting of infection surveillance data and assists in making recommendations to improve processes
Utilizes appropriate Quality Assurance monitoring activities to address issues of potential risk of infection for patients or employees.
Reports reportable diseases to the appropriate public health departments and responds to public health department inquiries as needed.
Performs apparent cause analysis to identify modifiable risk factors and other infection prevention opportunities.
Maintains a knowledge base of current Infection Prevention and Control information through networking internet literature and professional meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
