Essential Functions
- Provide safety and security services at University Chapel by enforcing University Chapel rules and regulations. Provides basic greeter function for all Chapel visitors/guests.
- Acts as a knowledgeable resource to students staff and visitors to campus. Provides general information such as directions and more uptodate information about campus events and activities.
- Additional hours available for events upon completion of CPR /AED and Basic First Aid Bloodborne Pathogens Crowd Manager ICS100 Fire Extinguisher and CSO training.
- Provide safety and security services at large University events. Enforces University policies rules and regulations. Assists with traffic and parking operations as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Parttime Officers may be assigned to a specific location/detail such as University Chapel security or event security during a given shift. The position requires availability on an asneeded/available basis primarily during daylight hours especially weekends including holidays.
Minimum Pay: $17.75 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful candidates will possess a high degree of reliability the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Successful candidates can also relate well to students faculty and a diverse community.
- Must possess a valid Virginia drivers license and a good driving history.
- Must be able to pass an extensive background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Fingering: Picking pinching typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
- Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists hands and/or fingers.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
- Pulling: Using the upper extremities to exert force to draw drag haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
TYPE OF WORK: Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
