About the Role

The Finance Manager Legal Project Management (LPM) is an integral part of Lathams Global Finance team and will be responsible for managing the matter management support that the team provides to attorneys via its automated reporting and selfservice analytics while overseeing LPM automated reporting which includes coordinating with attorneys and support staff to set up tailored analytics. This role will be located in ourdowntown Los Angelesoffice. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and inoffice presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and enhancing both LPMs analytics and reporting governance
  • Ensuring the LPM team delivers a quality professional product within the established timeframe and coordinating within the LPM team to ensure consistent procedures are followed that maximize accuracy and efficiency for both routine requests and longerterm projects
  • Coaching the LPM analysts and leading them in their career development
  • Fostering a collaborative team environment that is focused on building relationships with the attorneys within the Global Finance Department and with other professional support teams across the firm
  • Spearheading the development and rollout of selfservice analytics that enhance client and matter management for attorneys and across the firm
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive confidential privileged financial and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Wed love to hear from you if you:

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills needed for all primary duties of the position including comprehending and communicating data ideas and processes
  • Possess advanced skills in automated reporting business intelligence and relational databases
  • Display advanced and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

And have:

  • A bachelors degree or an equivalent preferably in finance accounting business administration economics statistics or another related field
  • A graduate degree in a related field preferably
  • A minimum of seven 7 years of analytical experience including a minimum of two 2 years of experience leading projects and other initiatives
  • Relevant experience in finance or related professional services environment preferably
  • A minimum of two 2 years supervisory/management experience
  • Previous experience in a customerfocused position preferably
