ADVANCE PRACTICE PROVIDER: PSYCH AND MENTAL HEALTH SOUTHWEST GENERAL MEDICAL GROUP (SGMG)
Southwest General Medical Group Inc. Behavioral Health provides assessment counseling crisis intervention and selfhelp services. Our experienced boardcertified psychiatrists work with adult and geriatric patients to help them deal with mental health or chemical dependency issues and lifechanging events (such as the loss of a loved one or divorce).

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Advanced Practice Provider is a licensed professional who will function independently but provide outpatient care in collaboration with a psychiatrist. They will plan implement and evaluate treatment in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders as applicable. They will act as a liaison between the physicianand the patient/family and collaborate with other health care professionals as appropriate. They may assist in the orientation of new employees and may participate in hospital or department committees. They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups according to specific chronological age developmental age and/or psychosocial maturity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Nurse Practitioner: State of Ohio graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of an ARCPA accredited physician assistant program. Master degree preferred or eligibility for prescriptive authority under Ohio law.
Required length of experience:
Must have a minimum of two 2 years of experience in a physicians office or hospital setting (experience in the clinical setting a plus); Clinical skills required will be dictated by the scope of services offered. Must have strong organizational skills and communication skills with the general public in person and on the telephone.
Experience in the specialty area indicated preferred.
Required licensure certification and/or registry:
Nurse Practitioner: Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing
Physician Assistant: Current PA licensure by the State Medical Board of Ohio
