Software Development Engineer Prime Video Sports

We obsess over Prime Video Sports customers having a flawless experience. Sports happen in real time and any time missed due to an issue during an event can never be given back. We seek to deliver the high quality experience our customers demand from the time any customer opens Prime Video until the end of each customers live event playback experience. We seek to create insights tooling and mechanisms to close existing gaps identify new gaps as they appear and remediate as quickly as possible.

Prime Video is rapidly creating new experiences by bringing the biggest live events to our global base of customers. Our teams are known for building the future of how people watch movies and TV shows and with our recent launches of NFL Thursday Night Football MLB TV NBA league pass ATP Tennis and many more we are bringing our innovation to Live events around the world.

We are looking for smart motivated Software Development Engineer who can help in building our platform for delivering live video events to our customer. If you have experience building largescale highperformance customercentric products and are interested in designing multitier services to handle large datasets complex domains and problems at Amazon scale this is the job for you.

Our innovative systems include high efficient and large scale platforms built on Amazons AWS cloud computing infrastructure. For this position you will have a strong background in OO design with Java/C. Experience working with web services XML JSON and GraphQL is desired. Linux system development experience is a plus. Equally important to these specific skills is the ability to multitask quickly adapt to new development environments and changing business requirements learn new systems create reliable/maintainable code and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems.

A day in the life
You will be building tools and services that work horizontally across Prime Video Sports to ensure high customer availability. This will include identification of gaps and the tools to plug those gaps including fullstack software design and development. You will collaborate with other engineers and managers to design services which meet key business needs and scale to the size of Prime Video data. You will prioritize datadriven decision making taking initiative to collect data and derive insights supporting engineering design decisions.

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
