Job Description
AnEnvironmental Laboratory Analyst is responsible for testing environmental samples to determine the presence of pollutants and other contaminants. They analyze samples using specialized equipment and techniques playing a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal state and local environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Sample Analysis:
Analyze various types of samples including process water coal fuel oil and compliance water samples. - Environmental Documentation:
Maintain accurate records permits and documentation required for environmental compliance and reporting.
Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelors degree in Chemistry Biology Microbiology or Environmental Sciences. - Experience:
Several years of experience performing laboratory analysis; familiarity with EPA methods or environmental testing is a plus. - Technical Skills:
Proficiency with laboratory testing equipment and adherence to safe laboratory practices. - Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information and compliance requirements. - ProblemSolving:
Excellent problemsolving skills to address complex issues and recommend innovative solutions. - Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy in documenting environmental data and ensuring regulatory compliance. - Teamwork:
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to achieve environmental objectives. - Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical thinking to interpret environmental data identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.
