Job Description
The OttawaCarleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. Our nearly 150 schools offer a wide range of programs to promote learning excellence and meet the individual needs of students parents and the community at large. We are seeking creative dynamic committed teachers to join our:
Elementary Occasional Teacher Roster
We are looking for Certified Occasional Teachers to join our Elementary OT Roster.
Occasional Teachers replace short term absences in our schools and are an integral part of our district.
Qualifications
Candidates:
- Must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers as of April 30 2025.
- Must hold a minimum of one Basic Qualification of either Primary Junior or Intermediate.
Application Process

This will be used for the initial screening process (i.e. personal contact information teachable subjects including those which you are formally qualified with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) language skills teaching experience including start and end dates education history lived experiences etc..
Ensure your OCT number is entered in the Qualifications page of your Apply to Education portfolio.
Upload your resume and cover letter.
Additional documents such as teaching qualifications/licenses diplomas/certificates practicum reports teaching evaluations and reference letters are all optional.

Interviews
We thank all applicants in advance for their interest; however only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
The OCDSB will contact candidates using the email addresses listed on their Apply to Education portfolios.
Following the closure of this competition (April 30 2025 candidates that are selected for an interview will receive an email that will include the interview date/time location and process details. Interviews are expected to take place in May 2025.
