Job Description

  • Employment Type: Full time 35 hours a week)
  • Duration: Fixed term to 30 Jun 2025 (strong possibility of extension until 30 June 2026
  • Remuneration: $100K $107K 17 super and leave loading)
  • Working rights: Australian/New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident.
  • Location: Kensington Sydney

Why this role matters

The Research Officer position will play a key role working on research projects forming part of the Drug Trends program collecting important data to inform policy and practice in Australia. The Research Officer position is a diverse role that predominantly contributes to the Illicit Drug Reporting System (IDRS) and Ecstasy and Related Reporting System (EDRS) projects. The Research Officer will be involved in all stages of these key projects from survey design data collection and analysis report writing information dissemination and planning for future projects.

The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre NDARC is a worldleader in research that positively

impacts alcohol and other drug use and related harms. The Centre based at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Faculty of Medicine and Health was established in 1986 in response to an emerging crisis of use. For over 35 years NDARC has been Australias leading research centre in the sector.
