Structural Buildings Engineering Discipline Leader

STV is seeking a Structural (Buildings) Engineering Discipline Leader that will embody the highest technical standards ethics and professionalism on behalf of STV in leading the technical engineering work out of our Boston MA location.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in engineering
• DisciplineSpecific Professional Engineering License

Core Responsibilities:

Project Delivery

• Project Quality

  For all office projects perform a quality review on each submission as either the primary (official) or secondary reviewer.

  Ensure periodic full technical review meetings are happening for all office projects and participate in each.

• Accountable to the Area Manager for the overall successful delivery of the office project discipline portfolio which includes but not limited to:

  Adherence to project scope and delivery of those services within the agreed upon discipline schedule and budget.

  Providing engaged guidance and expertise to the greater project teams including the client.

  Ensuring quality accuracy and completeness of all project deliverables including compliance with all required client and project technical and quality standards.

  Supporting Project Managers as needed for monthly or quarterly EstimatetoComplete forecasting.

• Supports overall group short and longterm staff resourcing exercises technical collaboration technical training professional license coverage and work sharing for the discipline for all offices.
• Supports all projects within their office that have identified legal concerns.

Proposal Delivery

• For all large proposals perform the following tasks in conjunction with the National Engineering Discipline Lead:

  Review and guide resourcing commercial and delivery approach and strategy during the proposal stage.

  Ensure appropriate discipline staff cost is provided for the proposal and project effort and assist with the identification of risk items and clarifications.

  Collaborate with Area Managers and Market Sector Leaders for outreach planning and .

• For all other proposals perform the above tasks involving the National Engineering Discipline Lead as required based on timing complexity and longterm client strategy.

Discipline Development

• Hiring

  Works with Area Manager and the National Engineering Discipline Lead on office hiring needs.

  Authority on the acceptance of all nonSenior Engineering positions for their office.

• Supports capture and sharing of discipline knowledge and lessons learned to support continued group learning.
• Elevates STV and the discipline through participation in technical organizations and presentations/publications in internal and external venues.
• Ensures all office technical staff are managed and mentored.
• Works with the National Discipline Lead on training culture organization growth and expertise for their office.
