This position is responsible for some fabrication and welding work related to the repair of vehicles.G1 ASE or Manufacturer certifications preferred. Experience working in General Automotive Service industry or Fleet Maintenance. The Automotive Technician I reports to the Automotive Supervisor.
Hiring Range: $22.89 $25.18 Hourly Rate (Depending on qualifications)
Work Days/Hours: Monday Friday
8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for some fabrication and welding work related to the repair of vehicles. G1 ASE Certifications preferred.The Automotive Technician I reports to the Automotive Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school or GED; supplemented by three 3 years of automotive repair experience; or any equivalent combination of education training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this job.
Licenses or Certifications:
Valid State of Georgia drivers license; G1 ASE Certifications or ability to obtain within one 1 year of employment; Series ASE certification of ability to obtain within two 2 years of employment
Special Requirements:
Requires an acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check and a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
Requires preemployment medical evaluation and satisfactory results from a preemployment alcohol and controlled substance testing in accordance state regulations.
This position is deemed safetysensitive and is subject to random alcohol and controlled substance testing.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is moderate work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force. Work requires regular and at times sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing stooping kneeling crouching and crawling and that may involve the lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors sounds depth texture and visual cues or signals. Tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a shop environment. Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse conditions such as dirt odors fumes temperature and noise extremes machinery vibrations electric currents or toxic agents.
