What success looks like in this role:
As Vertical Industry Marketing Manager you will be responsible for all Unisys marketing efforts targeting our four 4 Tier 1 vertical markets financial services public sector (State & Local Government) Higher Education and Travel & Transportation. You will own the overall messaging strategy campaign strategy content strategy and gotomarket programs that help drive and achieve Unisys short and longterm goals in these verticals. You will report to the Global Vice President of Solutions Content and Partner Marketing and own identifying customer market requirements and delivering clear and unique positioning and messaging.
Working closely with the Commercial Organization Practice leads in each of these Verticals you will use your industry & marketing experience to identify the solution capabilities as well as nontechnical differentiators that can be used to market to clients and prospects and drive awareness and demand. Additionally you will work closely with a broad crossfunctional marketing team to define and execute the GTM strategy craft demand generation campaigns drive the content strategy and design sales enablement tools and training for our internal audience.
The ideal candidate will be a technology enthusiast with the ability to build stories from a base of insight about our target customers and uplevel technical concepts into stories that clearly articulate business value for clients. Key Responsibilities:
Messaging: Own the Unisys Vertical Industry storytelling to various personas/ICPs across the different global markets and market segments. You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive messaging framework for each vertical including customer needs target markets value propositions differentiators use cases and supporting client stories.
Content strategy: Work closely with the Unisys Content Marketing team to develop a broad range of externalfacing content that resonates throughout the buyers journey and communicates Unisyss key value and differentiators.
Solution marketing: Work with the Unisys Solution Marketing teams to help identify solution portfolio gaps and opportunities for innovation and to address vertical needs.
Public Relations: Collaborate with Unisys PR to develop press releases blogs bylines and thought leadership content that help increase awareness.
Analyst & ThirdParty Advisor Relations: Partner with the Unisys AR/TPA team to help educate influencers on the Unisys Vertical Industry story and value proposition and ensures Unisys a strong position in key analyst and TPA evaluations.
Digital Marketing: Work with the Unisys Digital marketing team to help design test and activate the perfect blend of owned paid and earned media for all campaigns relevant to your market space.
Demand Generation: Collaborate with the Unisys Field Marketing team and regional sales leaders to craft integrated demand generation campaign plans to grow and influence Global Enterprise Solutions sales and pipeline within existing client accounts and targeted new logo accounts.
Partner marketing: Work with Unisys Partner Marketing to help identify and articulate common value propositions and comarketing activities that will help grow the business through our strategic alliances and channel partners.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
Bachelors degree in engineering computer science marketing or equivalent (MBA highly desired)
At least 5 years of integrated product/solution marketing experience in B2B and hightech segments.
General familiarity with how enterprise organizations are using/adopting cloud/SaaS technologies virtual platforms and transforming enterprise IT is required IT background a plus.
Passion for understanding customer needs and using customer insights to drive effective and engaging content and GTM programs
Proven track record of developing marketing plans and programs that drive growth and new customers.
Great written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate ideas into clear highimpact written communications and presentations.
Project management skills with the ability to own/drive projects to close. Successful at managing stakeholders at all levels of an organization (including senior executives).
Entrepreneurial selfstarter with discipline for setting goals and metrics driving decisions and getting closure on recommendations and issues.
Energy motivation and commitment to drive results in a fastpaced environment.
Ability to work problemsolve and thrive in an unstructured environment.
Selfstarter who can lead strategic and practical conversations with internal clients and leaders.
Technical marketing skills product knowledge and technical aptitude & experience.
Enterprise B2B sales experience a plus.
Marketing collateral design and graphics development experience (HTML Adobe Illustrator/InDesign etc. a plus.
Understanding of concepts challenges pain points terminology practices and procedures in at least one of the four tier 1 industry verticals (Financial Services Public Sector Higher Education Travel & Transportation).
Experience in customer and marketing research and analysis as well as vendor/agency management
