Job Location: Newport News VA
Start Date: 9/18/2024
End Date: 9/17/2025
Shift: Variable 12:00 AM 11:59 PM Sunday Saturday
Number of Positions: 5 (all positions available)
Rate of Pay:$36.00 per hour $120 perdiem for those who qualify
DESCRIPTION:
Hutco Inc. is seeking Radiography Testing Inspectors with documented qualification/certification to the Level II requirements of ASNT SNTTC1A 2016 Edition). Inspectors must be certified in IRRSP and possess proficiency in conducting radiographic inspections on piping casting and structural welds. The role involves working in demanding environments including shipboard settings and confined spaces.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification: All inspectors must be certified to Level II requirements of ASNT SNTTC1A 2016 Edition. Certification in IRRSP from an approved entity is required.
- Testing Expertise: Must have passed written general theory procedurespecific and practical exams covering radiographic testing (RT) for piping casting and structural welds.
- Examinations: Must pass a practical exam for the performance of Xray and Gamma radiography.
- Visual Acuity Exam: Passed a Jaeger 1 test within the last year demonstrating nearvision acuity at a distance of at least 12 inches. An additional vision test will be administered by Newport News.
- Experience: Must have performed inspections within the applicable methods (Xray and Gamma radiography) within the past 9 months.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspection: Perform RT inspections on piping casting and structural welds in shop/ship environments.
- Climbing and Crawling: Must be able to climb vertical ladders crawl in tanks and confined spaces and work at heights.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in physically demanding environments with varying temperatures and humidity levels.
