About the Role
Harman Automotives Connectivity division is at the forefront of revolutionizing vehicle connectivity and we are seeking a dynamic 2Wheeler Telematics Product Business Lead to drive our strategy and in the fastgrowing 2wheeler segment. Connectivity is rapidly transforming the mobility landscape and for 2wheelers it is not just about convenienceit is about enhancing safety security and delivering nextgeneration user experiences.
You will be responsible for defining the vision product roadmap and business strategy for 2wheeler telematics solutions. You will work closely with OEMs technology partners and crossfunctional teams within Harman to deliver innovative connected solutions that cater to the evolving needs of this industry. You will be single lead responsible for all product management and product delivery function and P&L owner for the defined Product area of 2Wheeler Telematics (product and services).
You will lead a global direct and matrixed team of experts to drive and define the product strategy technology roadmap and gotomarket strategy for define product area.You will consolidate the latest global market trends to develop customercentric products solutions & roadmaps define innovative business models and establish strategic partnerships.
The 2wheeler industry is undergoing a profound transformation driven by electrification increasing regulatory focus on safety and growing consumer demand for smarter connected experiences. Telematics is the foundation of this shift enabling features like enhanced safety crash detection emergency response remote diagnostics vehicle security overtheair (OTA) updates and AIdriven insights. At Harman we believe connectivity is the key enabler for delivering nextgeneration mobility solutions and as the 2Wheeler Telematics Product Business Lead you will play a pivotal role in shaping this future.
Your team will consist of crossfunctional team members drawn from all relevant functions within the business in a matrix organization.As we are starting a new segment this position will begin as an individual contributor reporting into Global VP Product/Platform Portfolio but eventually grow the team with 58 direct reports at the capacity of Director Product Managers Delivery Leader etc.
What You Will Do
- Product Strategy & Vision:Define and drive thelongterm vision business plan strategy and roadmapfor Harmans 2wheeler telematics portfolio aligning with industry trends and customer needs. Delivery of the definition of product collaterals (e.g. Marketing Requirements Document Product Requirements Document Roadmap and Business Cases) and product Launch (Go to Market) and life cycle plan for product area.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct market intelligence and assess competitive positioning by comparing HARMANs portfolio to competitors products and ecosystem
- Business Development & Growth:Identifymarket opportunities engage with globalOEMs and strategic partners and definegotomarket strategiesto drive adoption.
- Technology & Innovation Leadership:LeverageAI IoT cloud computing and 5Gto developconnected solutionsthat enhance safety rider experience and vehicle efficiency.
- CrossFunctional Collaboration: Collaborate with key internal stakeholders including Sales Marketing Global Support and Customer Success as well as downstream dependencies in Finance HR Legal etc. to ensure seamless of product development and deployment. Work closely with Finance Controlling and Engineering groups to define and control the overall budget on platform and product investments for the BU.
- Regulatory & Compliance Alignment:Stay ahead of globalregulatory changesrelated to vehicle safety data privacy and connectivity standards.
- Customer Engagement:Act as the voice of the customer ensuring that Harmansconnected solutions deliver tangible valuein terms of safety convenience and enhanced vehicle intelligence.
- Product Delivery: Responsible for the overall Product Delivery aligned to the overall strategy product roadmap and SBU priorities. Ensures team follow HARMAN process and procedures to deliver the products ontime onquality and within budget.
- Financial & P&L Ownership:Driveprofitability pricing strategy and business modelsthat maximize revenue growth while delivering value to customers.
- People First Mindset: Nurture build and develop a strong global team of product management and product delivery practitioners to cater to evolving business requirements. Attract retain and motivate best in class talent. Promote and develop top talent move or change incorrect talent when needed.
What You Need
- Bachelors degree in engineering in relevant domains.
- 15 years working experience in the technology industry automotive and 2 wheeler industry.
- Broad technical background in cellular and network technology 5G V2X) standards mobile devices WiFi Bluetooth GPS cloudbased services and automotivegrade products and processes.
- 8 years experience in product development product management business development marketing while leading high performing & globally distributed engineering teams.
- 5 years in experience in financial management P&L responsibility sales marketing and gotomarket .
- Deep understanding of 2wheeler industry trends rider behavior and evolving safety regulations.
- Experience creating compelling and differentiated product propositions based on market needs customer segments and technical feasibility aligned to an overarching product strategy.
- Ability to communicate advanced and complex concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely.
- Ability to navigate a fastchanging industry landscape and drive innovation in connected mobility solutions
- Experience in all aspects of the product lifecycle ensuring the program milestones happen on time technologies launch successfully and product evolution strategies are in place to maximize ROI.
- Business acumen to gauge not just what can be done but to know what can be profitable is a key requirement for this role. The ability to manage nearterm R&D costs/risks with longterm product commercialization is a critical requirement for this position.
