NexGen is currently seeking aGISProject Managerto manage and lead the design development and maintenance of Webbased multitier hosting environment. We are searching for an individual with experience in GIS project management. This individualwillbe requiredto work closely with members of NexGensand clients teams including but not limited to domain experts and developers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Manage transition rampup and rampdown activities.
- Manage overall project scope and resource to ensure an ontime onbudget delivery
- Preparation of the Project Management Plan addressing how to manage schedule and risk.
- Provideinterface and be responsive in overall project communication.
- Prepare and deliver status reports.
- Participate in regular and ad hoc meetingsregardingproject delivery.
- Participate in planning meetings asrequested.
- Prepare transitionplansas necessary.
- Define project scope andobjectives.
- Develop detailed work plans schedules project estimates resource plans and status reports.
- Conduct project meetings and responsible for tracking and analysis.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables.
- Providetechnicaland analytical guidance to project team.
- Recommend andtake action to directthe analysis and solutions of problems.
- Collaborate with the staff to identify address and mitigate security risks and ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements.
- Other duties may be assigned.
TechnicalSkills:
- At leastfiveyears in a handsontechnicallead/project management role.
- Experience with GIS and a geospatial background. Opensource GIS solutions is a plus.
- Knowledgeof Esris suite of software products and solutions including desktop server and online.
- Knowledge ofEsrisArcGIS Enterprise andArcGIS Onlineplatforms and technologies.
- Experience applying geospatial conceptsmethodologiesand solutions.
- The ability to develop visual and communications strategies to combine data management information visualization and user experience to communicate spatial information effectively.
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle.
- Familiarwith Agile methodologies and have managed projects under Agile methodologies.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in managing Federal Government IT projectsPMP Certification is a strong plus.
- GIS Certifications are a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- The candidate should also possess strong oral and written communication problemsolving skills and should be a team player.
- A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 50x25 50 MBPS download x 25 MBPS upload) is required.
- A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect sensitive but unclassified federal information.
- The successful candidate will also be able to pass background screening prior to employment.
- US Citizenship or legal permanent residence or US work authorization with minimum 3 years of continuous US presence is required due to federal contract requirements.
Education:
- Bachelors degree inEngineering or Computer Scienceor related discipline.
