Job Description
Empirico a clinicalstage biotechnology company that combines unmatched expertise in human geneticsdriven target discovery with worldclass capabilities in siRNA medicines is seeking a talented chemist with experience in solidphase oligonucleotide synthesis and analytics. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated creative scientist to be a vital member of our team.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for driving the synthesis purification and characterization of oligonucleotides and their conjugates and optimizing methodologies to support the development of siRNA medicines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in organic chemistry and analytical techniques. You will be expected to
- Independently lead discoveryscale solid phase synthesis purification and characterization of oligonucleotides and oligonucleotide conjugates
- Mentor junior team members providing guidance on experimental design and data interpretation
- Analyze interpret and communicate synthetic and analytical results
- Present results at group meetings to senior staff
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges to optimize current procedures
- Multitask and work on several different projects simultaneously
Requirements:
- This position requires a PhD in Organic Chemistry or a Masters degree in combination with at least one year of experience
- Experience with analytical instruments such as NMR LCMS RPHPLC
- Desire to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
- 17 years of relevant work experience preferably in solid phase synthesis
- Analytical or purification method development experience using RPIPHPLC AEXHPLC UV NMR LCMS MALDI and HRMS is highly desired
- Applicants must have authorization to work in the U.S.
The estimated annual base salary range for this role is $90000 to $140000. Individual compensation decisions will be based on various factors such as primary work location complexity and responsibility of role job duties/requirements and relevant experience and skills.
