ABOUT THE POSITION:
We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Procurement Specialist to lead and take ownership of procurement activities for Battery Energy Storage Solution Projects in Australia. The Procurement Manager will lead sourcing and procurement activities from the tendering phase through to project delivery and services.
This role requires an autonomous and pragmatic professional with experience working in a matrixed environment engaging with multiple stakeholders and managing multiple projects and tasks.
This position has a functional reporting line to the Head of Procurement Australia and Logistics APAC and on a tender/project basis reports to the assigned Fluence Bid Manager/Project Manager.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies to support tenders and project delivery.
- Identify and develop new suppliers and contractors to enhance price delivery and quality.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external specialists to arrange technical specifications scope of works and performance requirements into procurement agreements.
- Support the Sales/Tendering Deal team and effectively manage obtaining proposals from suppliers and subcontractors to meet tender timeframes and key deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain the procurement plan and equipment delivery schedule.
- Lead and negotiate procurement agreements and contracts to secure products and services for the balance of plant including engineering consultants design and construct contractors transmission line works commissioning switchroom HV & MV transformers civil works logistics LTSA maintenance works and more.
- Support the development and of contracts ensuring adherence to key project timeframes through effective contract term negotiations aligned with Fluences obligations to customers.
- Maintain robust recordkeeping and information lifecycle management throughout procurement planning tender and contract lifecycles.
- Manage vendor selection and appointment in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Issue purchase orders and ensure that equipment deliveries and services meet project requirements.
- Coordinate with Fluences Global Supply Chain and offshore suppliers to meet equipment delivery requirements including specific shipping needs.
- Work with Construction and Operational Services teams to manage local logistics concerning storage and movement of inventory tools and equipment between warehousing and site locations.
- Prepare and maintain uptodate procurement plans and shipping schedules for project management and reporting purposes.
- Support the project team in resolving quality and delivery issues including claims with suppliers and contractors.
What Were Looking For (Essential & Desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and develop relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to interact in a multicultural environment and to work under pressure.
- Natural curiosity and problemsolving skills with the ability to pivot procurement strategies to adapt to changes in market conditions engineering or supplier issues.
- At least 7 years of procurement experience in the power generation renewable energy utility infrastructure or oil and gas industry.
- Ability to design compile and monitor a supply chain risk framework.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work unsupervised and demonstrate behaviors that promote employee safety and accountability.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work to deadlines.
- Attentive to details in performing all aspects of the role.
- Aligns with the organizations vision and values.
- Demonstrable ability to work in a highperformance team within a matrixed and global organization.
- Ability for occasional travel internationally and domestically.
- Strong command of English.
- A tertiary qualification with postgraduate studies in engineering (preferred) business or law.
- Experience in strategic procurement contract management construction and project development.
