Serves as the primary investigator of the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH)/Health Research Inc. (HRI) Regional Training Center (RTC) Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) centered at SUNY Upstate. Provides full programmatic support to the mission and goals of the Central New York Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition (HEPC). Manages implementation and coordination of the RTC program is responsible for ongoing evaluation of the program. Prepares RTC grant proposals vouchers reports of expenditures and deliverables reports as well as other required reports/summaries of program accomplishments. Key in the strategic planning process in establishing future goals and objectives for the Central NY HEPC and NYSDOH HPP.
Bachelors degree in a healthcarerelated discipline such as public health nursing or emergency management and a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in a healthcare setting to include working in the area of the hospital or public health preparedness emergency medical service fire service bioterrorism and/or disaster planning required. Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent written/oral communication organizational analytical and computer skills required. A valid NYS drivers license is required. Applicant must possess the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability statistical inference and data analysis; and possess the ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to a practical situation.
Prior experience working with both State and Federal agencies and experience in program management and policy development preferred.
