Job Summary:
As a Property and Casualty Claims Specialist you will be responsible for working with clients to review and process insurance claims. The Claims Consultant will need to understand policy coverages and language to provide clients with information relative to the handling of commercial claims. This Consultant needs excellent organizational and communicative skills to work with our clients and guide them through the process of reporting and handling their claims. Strong relationships with carriers and adjusters are a plus. Knowledge of third party claims handling and the ability to identify subrogation potentials and knowledge of documentation needed to pursue other responsible parties relative to claims outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Working knowledge of coverages limits and process of first party and third party claims with the ability to determine potential subrogation opportunities.
Ability to review and evaluate incidents to determine if reporting is appropriate
Gather information used to investigate and determine validity.
Able to calculate and recommend changes to reserves to reflect ultimate costs
Negotiate/evaluate settlements with insurance carriers
Provide advice and guidance to clients on the claims process.
To provide excellent follow up with insureds and adjusters to minimize delays.
Initiate services to clients where vendors additional living auto rentals and emergency assistance are needed.
Willingness to be available for catastrophic events in real time.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years experience in Property/Casualty Claims Transportation/Trucking claims experience a plus
Strong client service/presentation/communication/negotiation skills
Strong computer skills and proficiency in the use of claims software programs
Strong attention to detail and organization with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to work with others as a team member.
