Job Description

Job description Designer/Drafter

We are seeking a talented Designer to join a leading organization andquickly growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and updating shop drawings for a variety of projects and equipment. He/she will work closely with the Sales team Engineering/Design team and the Purchasing/Production groups in a support role so good communication and a willingness to work with others is a must.

Job Summary:

Experience is model generation with AutoCAD and Inventor Platforms
Review Customers job scope and provide fabrication drawings based on the scope of supply.
Provide PID drawings wiring schematics and equipment general layout model drawings for fabrication.
Specify material used in fabrication drawings and provide a BOM for the equipment
Compute mathematical formulas to find correct dimensions areas equipment weights equipment centerofgravity and other information needed for seismic and wind load analysis.
Create models out of rough sketches and general discussions with teammates.
Coordinate with other teams to ensure the model is correct through drawing approvals
Develop standardized models of products
Provide design insights into equipment layout design and configuration.
Process material Drawings into Templates for Fabrication Material Preparation.
Revise drawings templates fabrication details based on customer requirements and production feedback.
Process Drawings into 3d files for distribution to 3rd parties.

Qualifications and Skills

Associate degree in drafting from technical school
Ability to problem solve
Ability to stay organized
Ability to juggle multiple projects at once
Solid mathematical skills
Very detail oriented
Knowledge of necessary regulations
Great time management skills
Ability to work on your own
Experience designing Oil & Gas Industry Flares and ASME Code Vessels a must
Experience with Thermal Oxidizers VRUs Meter Runs LACT Units and/or AISC a plus
