The role:
The Food Safety Specialist ensures a safe clean and functional environment in the CookUnity Facility.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor production activities and ensure all chefs and employees comply with food safety regulations.
- Assist chefs with cooking and cooling logs safety storage and other critical tasks
- Perform critical checks including refrigeration chemical concentration temperature monitoring and equipment calibrations
- Conduct daily facility compliance walks document findings and assign corrective actions as necessary
- Ensure the facility is always inspectionready for local regulators and thirdparty auditors.
- Collaborate with the Food Safety team to deliver chef and employee training on food safety and sanitation practices.
- Work closely with other departments such as Kitchen Operations Supply Chain and Maintenance to correct issues affecting food safety and quality.
- Provide detailed reports on compliance status and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a high compliance food processing facility (USDA FDA) or large volume food business with established food safety programs
- Experience working with a team in a fast paced environment
- Good communication skills and ability to speak in a professional manner to a wide range of partners and stakeholders
- Ability to build relationships and explain food safety concepts in plain language
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned duties without direct supervision
- Proficiency G Suite/Google Workspace.
- Team player with a positive collaborative mindset
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to complete tasks in cold (coolers) or hot (kitchens) environments
- Ability to stand for long periods lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays as required
- Bilingual English/Spanish

Compensation
All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity and alignment with market data.Pay Range for this position
$18 $19 USD
